PHILLIPS — The 12th annual penny sale auction, to be held at the Phillips Public Library, will make a change this year regarding the drawing that will be held at noon Sunday, March 6.

Of the 270 items to be drawn, a percentage of them will be drawn after the library closes at 5 p.m. Friday, March 4.

The procedure that normally can take up to four hours or more on Sunday can be shortened by drawing the low value items at an earlier date.

The tickets purchased at 25 chances for $1 are placed in manila envelopes. Some of the box lot and smaller items have only a few tickets, whereas the better items may have more than 500.

The change will save time and those going to the library on Saturday may pick up items tagged with their name.

For those wishing to obtain tickets, the library is open Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
