SOUTH PARIS — The Oxford Hills SCORE Chapter was honored recently as Chapter of the Year for 2010 in Maine District 0172.

The recognition marks the second time during the past 10 years that honor has been bestowed on the local chapter.

The chapter exceeded all goals in 2010 for client services especially with regard to “face-to-face” services and workshop offerings. The local chapter was also the first chapter in the district to successfully launch roundtable workshops in cooperation with a local Chamber of Commerce (Oxford Hills) and SBDC as partners. Oxford Hills SCORE was also one of four chapters in the district recognized for leadership in embracing districtwide SCORE initiatives.

The Oxford Hills SCORE office is at 2 Market Square. Its mission is to provide resources and expertise to maximize the success of existing or emerging small business. Free counseling and mentoring for new and existing businesses are offered as well as periodic workshops relevant to running and/or starting a business.
