CARRABASSETT VALLEY — Three people escaped injury Sunday morning in a head-on crash on Route 27, just south of Redington Road.
John Bohorquez, 20, of Brooklyn, N.Y., was traveling north at approximately 10 a.m. when he lost control of his 2004 Subaru Impreza in the S-turns, police Chief Scott Nichols said. Bohorquez’s car spun into the southbound lane and hit a 2005 GMC pickup head-on. The GMC was operated by Jeffrey Davis, 46, of Gray, his daughter Michaela Davis, 20, was in the passenger’s seat.
Speed and driver inexperience were the cause of the accident, Nichols said, and no charge was brought.
Officer Jordan Norton of the Carrabassett Police Department was at the scene.
NorthStar Emergency Medical Services evaluated those involved, but none were transported.
Both vehicles were totaled.
Fire Chief Courtney Knapp was at the scene with other members of the department, who assisted with traffic control along with Scott Nichols Jr.
