LEWISTON — Bernadette Madore, 100, of 33 Roger St., died Thursday, March 3, at Marshwood Nursing home.

She was born in St. Hyacinth, Canada, April 14, 1910, one of eight children to Zephrin and Arthemise (Lebel) Madore. She attended schools in Lewiston and later went to work at Clark Shoe for many years, until her retirement in 1972.

Bernadette loved working with her hands and was an accomplished carver and seamstress. She was a longtime member of Holy Cross Church.

She is survived by her eight nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by seven brothers and sisters, including her sister, Irene Madore, Jan. 11, 2010.
