Lenten series

MECHANIC FALLS — The Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish Lenten Scripture Study and Discussion Program will be held Monday, March 7, through Friday, April 15.

Groups of eight to 10 people will meet once a week. They will discuss the scripture readings for Lent in light of commentary and discussion questions from the Rev. Clement Thibodeau’s “Echoing God’s Word” series. The groups will meet at a variety of day and evening times at Our Lady of Ransom, Mechanic Falls, and St. Catherine’s, Norway. Rosary Sodality

LEWISTON — The Rosary Sodality of Prince of Peace Parish will resume monthly meetings on Tuesday, March 8, at Holy Cross seniors hall. Recitation of the Rosary will take place at 6 p.m. followed by a business meeting and “Mardi Gras” refreshments.

Lakeside Chapter

SABATTUS – Lakeside Chapter 60, Order of the Eastern Star, will hold its annual meeting and election of officers on Tuesday, March 8, at the Grange/Masonic Building. Members are reminded to bring a potluck dish to share for supper at 6 p.m. The meeting will follow at 7.

MS support

Pine Cone Chapter

AUBURN — The annual meeting of Pine Cone Chapter 26, Order of the Eastern Star, will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 10, at the Masonic Hall, 1021 Turner St. The meeting will be preceded by a supper at 6. Members are encouraged to attend.

Clothing distribution

LEWISTON — A clothing distribution will be held from 10:30 to 4 p.m. Friday, March 11, at the Lewiston Root Cellar, 89 Birch St.

There will be free professional and casual clothing items and shoes of all sizes for infants, children, teens, men and women. The distribution is open to everyone in the community.

Clothing donations will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday. For more information, call 782-3659.

Golden Age Group

AUBURN — The Golden Age Group of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish will meet Tuesday, March 15, in the lower level meeting room of Sacred Heart Church. The social hour will start at 11 a.m., followed by a corned beef and cabbage dinner  served at noon. The business meeting will follow.

Reservations will be accepted through Sunday, March 13, by calling Paula Baril at 576-4082. New members are welcome to join at this meeting but are asked to call ahead for reservations as well.

Member are encouraged to bring donations of canned or nonperishable foods to be donated to the St. Louis Food Pantry.

LEWISTON — The Lewiston-Auburn Bridge Club winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on March 1 were as follows:
