KINGFIELD — The Kingfield POPS invites the community to attend performances by the Kennebec Trio on Wednesday, March 9, at the Strong and Kingfield schools.

The Kennebec Trio is composed of three Bangor Symphony Orchestra string musicians. The concert, which SAD 58 elementary students will attend, is part of the Kingfield POPS ongoing mission to provide inspiring live music programming for students and community members in the local schools.

The Strong School will host students from Phillips for the concert at 9:30 a.m. and the Kingfield School will host Stratton students for the concert from noon to 12:45 p.m. All community members are invited.

Mary Jo Carlsen, violinist/violist/baroque violinist, studied with Itzhak Perlman and Ora Shiran in New York. She performs music from the Renaissance through the 21rst century, has taught violin and viola and coached chamber music at Colby College and recently joined the staff of SummerKeys in Lubec. She has been a featured performer in Italy, South Carolina, New York and Florida and performs with many orchestras and chamber groups in Maine.

Eliza J. Meyer, cellist, is a member of the Bangor Symphony Orchestra and performs with chamber and orchestral ensembles around Maine and in the Boston area. She specializes in music of the 20th and 21st centuries and was a core member of Ludovico Ensemble, a new music ensemble in residence at the Boston Conservatory where she was artistic director for two seasons and received her master of music degree with several honors.

Linda Theriault, violist, received degrees from the University of Washington and the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore. Upon graduation, she spent 18 years playing with the National Symphony Orchestra of Taipei, Taiwan.
