Air Force Airman Jacob R. Marcum graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Marcum earned distinction as an honor graduate.

The airman graduated in 2006 from Edward Little High School, Auburn.

He is the son of Randall Marcum of Lewiston and Julie Dresser of Auburn and the grandson of Robert and Dora Marcum of Lewiston and Susan Tufts of Auburn. Marcum is married to the former Kristen Tremblay of Turner.
