RUMFORD — Parents/guardians with children who will be age 5 on or before Oct. 15 are asked to call their neighborhood school to preregister their child for kindergarten by Friday, April 8, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Formal registration and screening will take place at each school. Rumford Elementary will hold screenings from 9:30 to 3 p.m. Thursday, April 14, and from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday, April 15.

Meroby will hold registration from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, May 5, and from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday, May 6. Parents should allow one hour for the appointment.

Children in kindergarten will not attend school on the days of screening in their school.

Parents need to bring an original birth certificate from the town where the child was born and immunization information to the registration session.
