JAY — Selectmen will begin 2011-12 municipal budget talks on Wednesday in a meeting with department heads.
The meeting begins at 3 p.m. March 9 at the town office. It is open to the public, but no public comment will be allowed.
Selectmen, department heads and Budget Committee members have a joint meeting scheduled at 5:45 p.m. Thursday, March 24, at the Jay High School library, Town Manager Ruth Cushman said.
The plan is to cover donation requests but if any of the nonprofit organization representatives don’t show up, other budgets such as insurance, ATV Club and similar items will be taken up, she said.
“I’ve allotted 10 minutes each for donation requests,” she said.
Discussions on department budgets will be held at 5 p.m. Monday, March 28, at the Jay High School library.
They are hoping to get the bulk, if not all, of the budget done at that meeting.
If a third joint meeting is needed, it will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, at the high school library.
