About 30 people attended the first “Diabetes & You” health fair on Tuesday, Feb. 15 in Lewiston. The fair had information and demonstrations about nutrition, monitoring, talking to your doctor, and two panel discussions about challenges and successes. Exhibitors included Tri-County Mental Health, Common Ties Mental Health Services, the Elder Abuse Task Force, Hannaford Nutrition Education, Healthy Androscoggin, St. Mary’s Medical Center Diabetes Center, St. Mary’s Prevention & Wellness, St. Mary’s Nutrition Center and University of Maine Cooperative Extension. Registered dietitian Jamie Pepin and registered nurse Michelle Allen from St. Mary’s Diabetes Center are shown sharing information and resources with an attendee.
