BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — The Buffalo Sabres have returned three forwards, including veteran Mark Parrish, to their American Hockey League affiliate in Portland, Maine.

Also demoted were Mark Mancari and Luke Adam. The moves were made Wednesday, a day after a 3-1 loss at Pittsburgh, and as the Sabres continue their seven-game road trip at Boston on Thursday.

All three were called up over the past week to fill in for injured forwards Thomas Vanek (flu), Jochen Hecht (upper body), Mike Grier (lower body injury) and Patrick Kaleta (bruised knee).

Parrish, an 11-year NHL veteran, made his debut with the Sabres against the Penguins. The six-time 20-goal-scorer was signed by the team in September and has spent the entire season in the minors.
