The Farmers’ Almanac called it.
While Stormy predicted snow for March 15, the almanac called for fair weather. And fair weather it was. (Made for a not-so-scary Ides of March.)
Next week can best be summed up in three words, but which three?
Will it be: 1) Sleet, snow, ice 2) Windy, rainy, warm 3) Fair, fair, fair
The food: Piles each contained a mix of apple, dog food and mice.
The Farmers’ Almanac says: Fair. Fair. Also, fair.
Stormy says: Windy, rainy and warm. It’s not going to be fun.
Stormy’s Furcast is a winter-long series testing the weather predictions of the good-natured folks at the nearly 200-year-old Farmers’ Almanac against an equally good-natured fox who lives at the Maine Wildlife Park in Gray. The almanac is based on science and secret formulas. The fox makes her pick choosing from three piles of food, appropriately labeled. Each week, a new question and the previous week’s results. May the best forecaster, or furcaster, win.
