Begin

AUBURN — Paul A. and Yvonne Begin recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. They were married on Feb. 15, 1941, and have lived in the Lewiston-Auburn area their entire lives.

They have two children, Paul F. of Cape Elizabeth and Patricia Bacon of Jacksonville, Fla., as well as five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mr. Begin, age 92, served aboard the USS Marathon during World War II; owned and operated an auto business from post-war through the mid 1980s and worked in the Commons at Bates College, until his retirement at age 88.

Mrs. Begin, age 92, was a homemaker, assisted her husband with his business and worked as a sales clerk for Porteous. They are in good health, live independently and currently reside in New Auburn.
