The hunt is on

On Wednesday, March 23, the Maineiacs will be hosting a pep rally at the Ramada Inn of Lewiston, hoping to generate a buzz around the squad as it prepares for the playoffs.

In addition to the rally, the 2010-11 team awards will be presented at the event, and all of the players will be available for autographs and pictures.

People have the option to purchase a buffet meal as part of the evening, or skip the mean and arrive only for the awards. The cost of the meal will be $15 per person, except for season ticket holders, who receive a discounted price of $12.50.

Doors will open for the dinner portion of the event at 5:45 p.m., the meal will be served at 6. Doors open for those not attending the dinner portion at 7:15, with the awards scheduled to begin at about 7:30.

Champoux Insurance, Dan Auger Painting and Papering, and Wallbow’s Yard Care are this year’s event sponsors.

Searching for staff

The Lewiston Maineiacs have announced that they are looking for new employees.

The team will have a booth at the Community Job Fair at Central Maine Community College on April 8, where it will be looking for full- and part-time sales staff, specifically for corporate partnerships, and tickets sales (full season, partial packages, groups).

For more information, the team is asking those interested to contact the front office.

Back to full strength

Things are looking up for the Maineiacs in the injury department. Aside from Cole Hawes, who is having a second surgery on his hand, the rest of the team ought to be at full strength come playoff time.

“We expect Sam Finn (who’s been out nearly a month) and (Matthew) Bissonnette to be back in the lineup for the playoffs,” Houle said.

The team will also get suspended 20-year-old forward Antoine Houde-Caron back, as well.
