MANCHESTER, N.H. — Iris P. Grant, 72, of Manchester, N.H., died Thursday, March 24, at her home, after a lengthy battle with pancreatic cancer.
She was born in Dixfield, Oct. 25, 1938, a daughter of the late Hector and Edna (Jordan) Girardin Sr. and had been a resident of Manchester for the past 24 years, formerly living in Derry, N.H., and Wilton.
Iris was employed in the hardware field, specializing in plumbing for 33 years. She had been employed by Benson’s Lumber and Hardware in Derry, Sundeens Lumber in Manchester and Steenbeck and Sons in Salem, N.H. Iris loved her dogs and enjoyed doing crafts.
She is survived by her husband, Earle C. Grant of Manchester; two sons, David Crockett Jr. of Wilton and Chris Crockett of New Sharon; two daughters, Susan DeRuiter of Wiscasset and Ethel Crockett of Waldeboro; two stepdaughters, Carolyn Thompson and Brenda Thompson, both of Friendship; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Pauline Barr of Farmington; several nieces, nephews, cousins; and her numerous extended family and friends.
