FARMINGTON — A Westbrook man was released on $1,000 cash bail Friday after being accused of sexually touching a girl over a three-year period, police said.
Steven R. Goozey, 39, was arrested on a charge of felony unlawful sexual contact Thursday, Franklin County Sheriff Lt. Niles Yeaton said Friday.
A conviction on the charge carries a prison sentence of up to 30 years.
Detective David St. Laurent and Deputy Heidi Wilcox interviewed the 12-year-old Franklin County girl and her parent after the Sheriff’s Department was contacted, he said.
Deputies contacted Goozey by telephone and he came up to the Sheriff’s Department and was arrested, Yeaton said.
Goozey is scheduled to be arraigned in a Farmington court on April 21, according to the arrest log.
