LIVERMORE FALLS — The Jay-Livermore Falls Seniors met at Murray Hall on March 21 with 28 members present. Chairwoman Shirley Couture opened the meeting with a prayer, a salute to the flag and a moment of silence for departed members, for the people of Japan and for the men and women serving in the armed forces.
Pauline Coombs and Lois Gordon are on the sick list. A thank-you note was received from Home Health Services for the donation made in memory of Raoul Roy.
New menus at LaFleur’s Restaurant will be available shortly to clarify the beverages with the Senior Spectrum meals available for seniors. Coffee, tea, ice tea or water will be available with the meal.
Jeanne Williams submitted a joke. Couture reminded everyone that on Monday, March 28, state insurance representatives will be available to speak to the group and everyone from the area is welcome.
Couture spoke about the Easter meal and it was decided the group would have finger rolls and salads. Gloria DeLassandro has offered the cake and ice cream for the meal.
The 50/50 was won by Diane Getz. Following the meeting, a successful Chinese auction was held. Refreshments were brought by Alice DeMoras, Pat and Nancy Couture.
Refreshments next week will be donated by Marie Gagnon and Elvina Miller.
Membership to the Jay-Livermore Falls Seniors is open to anyone in the area who is 55 or over. The group meets from 1 to 3 p.m. Mondays at Murray Hall from September to Memorial weekend.
