OXFORD — The office of U.S. Sen. Susan Collins announced grant funding for the Oxford Fire and Rescue Department on Wednesday.
According to a release, the department will receive $43,143 from the Department of Homeland Security’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.
The funding will be distributed through the Operations and Firefighting Safety Program, which pays for training, equipment, wellness and modifications to fire stations.
Oxford Fire Chief Scott Hunter was on vacation Wednesday and not available to comment on the grant.
