AUBURN — Mike Spaulding, CPA and shareholder with Austin Associates, PA, certified public accountants, will be presenting to entrepreneurial students at USM Lewiston-Auburn College on April 20.
Students in the New Venture Program, organized and taught by the Maine Centers For Women, Work and Community, are spending a full semester learning the ins and outs of running a small business.
The program is hosted by USM Lewiston-Auburn College. Shirley Hamilton, micro enterprise trainer from WWC, has arranged for a series of experts from the local business community to provide lessons in their field of expertise.
Spaulding will focus on taxes and accounting. He will cover considerations from choosing a business entity, utilizing contractors vs. employees, tax credits and deductions, filing and extensions and more.
