Event for juniors
LISBON FALLS — The Lisbon High School guidance office will host “Jump Starting the Senior Year” for juniors and their parents at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, in the Lisbon High School Library.
The presentation will allow parents and students to learn how to make the most of this summer so the beginning of senior year is more organized. For more information, contact the guidance office at 353-3030, ext. 2006.
Talk on sleep
LEWISTON — Sleep specialist Dr. Thaddeus Shattuck from St. Mary’s Center for Sleep Disorders will talk about obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 14, in the resident dining room at St. Mary’s d’Youville Pavilion, 102 Campus Ave/
He’ll explain why OSA is a major health problem, discuss other conditions that can “masquerade” as OSA and what treatment options are available.
The presentation will be followed by a question-and-answer session. Light refreshments will be served. To register, call 777-8759.
Senior concert
AUGUSTA — A Senior Concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 14, in Jewett Hall Auditorium, University of Maine at Augusta, 46 University Drive. Doors will open at 7 p.m.
Four local musicians will take part in the concert.
Craig Raymond of Turner will be on guitar while Peter Herman, also on guitar, is from Readfield. Bassist Jeff Taylor of Auburn is a former alumni of the UMA jazz program. Cameron Lopez of Lewiston is studying jazz at UMA. He is originally from Santa Clarita, Calif. Raymond is formerly of Miami, Fla.
Their music ranges from Bebop to Fusion and Beyond.
Seek donations
LEWISTON — St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center holds a giant yard sale each year to benefit its partners in Haiti: the St. Boniface Foundation, Pwoje Espwa (Project Hope) orphanage and the Sisters of Charity of Saint-Hyacinthe for their ministry in Haiti.
This year, the yard sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 7. The facility is searching for donations such as knick-knacks, small appliances, toys, books (no textbooks), DVDs and CDs, gently used children’s clothing, jewelry, miscellaneous small household items.
Items can be dropped off from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, May 6, at the Lepage Conference Center, 99 Campus Ave. For more information, call Yvette Levasseur at 777-8805.
Volunteer week
LEWISTON — The Androscoggin Volunteer Association of Lewiston will observe National Volunteer Week from Sunday to Saturday, April 10 to 16.
The Androscoggin County organization was recently created for volunteer managers/coordinators, paid and unpaid.

Bridge results
LEWISTON — The Lewiston-Auburn Bridge Club winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on April 5 were as follows:

Winners at Schooner Estates on April 6 were as follows: first, Fred Letourneau and John Hackett; second, Mary Ann Trafton and Kathleen Burden; third, Tom Dahlberg and David Wallace.
