Route 9 reconstruction
Issue: The Maine Department of Transportation is rebuilding the road that intersects the Maine Turnpike and connects Route 126 in Sabattus and Route 196 in Lisbon. A crew is working on the Sabattus side of the project. Blasting could take three to four months.
The scoop: Most of the project is expected to be done by November.
Up next: People should expect up to 7-minute waits along the corridor. Town Manager Rick Bates plans to alert school officials of possible delays along bus routes.
Voters to decide on subdivision
Issue: The approval of a proposed subdivision on Lorelei Drive has been delayed. Changes were made to the town’s street construction ordinance after the approval process had begun.
The scoop: Bates asked selectmen to waive an engineer’s signature on the project and to send it to voters.
Up Next: The proposed approval will be on the warrant for the June 4 town meeting.
