NORWAY — Take off Pounds Sensibly of South Paris has moved to a new location, the Community Hall, 99 Town & Country Drive, Norway. That is in Town & Country Mobile Home Village in the back part of the office building. Meetings are Tuesdays at 4:30 p.m. For more information, call Mary at 743-6992.

Mineral talk

BRYANT POND — Dennis Gross will be the guest speaker at the Whitman Memorial Library at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 14. Gross is the owner of the minerals shop in Bryant Pond. He will be talking about his experiences at shows throughout the United States and will bring a variety of his minerals. The program is open to the public at no charge and light refreshments will be served.

Pot luck

PARIS — There will be a community pot luck supper and game night at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, April 15, at the First Universalist Church in West Paris. This is open to the public at no charge. Bring a dish to share. The supper will be followed by games and socializing.

Retired teacher

OXFORD — There will be a retired teachers meeting on Friday, April 15, at 10:30 a.m. with a social hour at 11 a.m., a business meeting at noon and lunch at 12:45. The program will be hunger awareness in Oxford County and the fundraiser will be the cookie walk. The location will be First Congregational Church on Main Street. To reserve a lunch, call 743-7677.

Auxiliary fair

MECHANIC FALLS — American Legion Post 150 Ladies Auxiliary will hold a craft fair and Chinese auction from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, at the post home. There will be a food sale, white elephant table, Radar knives, crafts and more.

Easter Event day

PARIS — The Paris Public Library will host an Easter Event day from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 16. Participants will have an opportunity to make crafts, such as Easter Bunny magnets, and will also participate in an Easter Egg hunt. Each child attending will receive their own basket for plastic eggs and a few pieces of candy. The event is free for anyone in the Oxford Hills community.

Indoor yard sale

WATERFORD — First United Church Of Christ will hold their first indoor yard sale of the season from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 16, at the Wilkins House (next to church) on Plummer Hill.

Lots of new items, something for everyone. Sales benefit the improvement fund.

Texas Hold’em

HARRISON — Harrison Lions Club on Main Street will host a Texas Hold’em Tournament from 1 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 16. The entry fee is $75. Proceeds will be used to provide services that the Lions Club renders to the community.

Grange open house

NORWAY — Norway Grange 45 will hold an open house at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 17. During the program, Everett Parlin will be presented with the Community Citizen Award for the volunteer work he has done since 1984 to keep the grounds around the Grange Hall and the white wooden fence looking nice.
