AUBURN — The Auburn Public Library will present a four-part workshop series called “Dream, Plan, Execute: A Roadmap to Entrepreneurial Success” at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 14, at the library, 49 Spring St.

The series is for those who think they might want to start a small business or become self-employed and would like guidance about how to begin. All are invited, and women especially are encouraged to attend.

The workshop sessions are:

10:30 a.m.: “Turn Your Dreams into Goals.” Performance consultant John Brubaker discusses how to transform exciting, but sometimes crucially vague, ideas and ambitions into concrete steps that can be tested and acted upon.

Noon: “An Entrepreneurial Success Story: From Dream to Reality at Heidi’s Brooklyn Deli.” Heidi’s Brooklyn Deli owner Michele Tribou recounts highs and lows from her own inspirational journey toward becoming a small business owner.

Noon: “Breaking Through: Women, Business, and Technology.” A panel discusses obstacles women still face in some business and technology sectors and strategies that can be used to overcome them. Panelists include Lib Jamison, executive director of Women Unlimited; Kathleen Harrison, gender equity coordinator, Central Maine Community College; Shirley Hamilton, microenterprise coordinator, Women, Work and Community; and Phyllis Gamage-Jensen, director of the Lewiston-Auburn 911 Call Center.

The series is free, and people may attend any or all sessions; session one only requires advance registration. For more information or to register for session one, call the library reference desk at 333-6640, ext. 4.
