STANDISH — Maine police are investigating the crash of a car into a Standish daycare center.

The motorist was injured when the car crashed into the Little Tykes Day Care just after 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. The day care was empty at the time, but the building suffered extensive damage.

The driver was taken away by ambulance. His condition was unknown.

Crystal Frost, the day care center’s owner, says the center will be closed Thursday and Friday for repairs. She tells WGME-TV that she’s looking to install a fence or guard rail to prevent future crashes.
