BRUNSWICK — The cinematic concert rockumentary, “The Grateful Dead Movie Event,” will take audiences back to the 1970s for a night on Wednesday, April 20. The film will be shown nationwide in 500-plus cinemas, including Brunswick 10.
Under the direction of lead guitarist Jerry Garcia and co-directed by Leon Gast, these legendary 1974 concerts capture the Grateful Dead at the pinnacle of the band’s psychedelic worldwide fame.
During this NCM Fathom event, audiences will also view never before seen interviews with both Garcia and Bob Weir done during filming.
“The Grateful Dead Movie Event” was shot during the band’s concerts at Winterland Arena in San Francisco in October 1974, prior to the Grateful Dead taking a two-year sabbatical.
“This flashback concert is a chance for Dead Heads to relive the experience of one of the band’s most famous performances,” said Dan Diamond, vice president of NCM Fathom.
Tickets, $12.50, to the 7:30 p.m. showing are available at participating theater box offices and online at www.FathomEvents.com. Brunswick 10 is at 19 Gurnet Road.
