FARMINGTON — Franklin County commissioners will begin review Tuesday of a proposed $5.25 million budget for government for 2011-12.
The proposal represents a $209,645 increase over the current budget.
Factoring in anticipated revenues of $580,600 including $100,000 from the county’s undesignated fund brings the draft total assessment that would need to be raised to $4.67 million. If everything stays as is, then it would mean a net increase of $116,083 to the assessment over the current assessment.
The budget proposal includes $22,290 for yearly rent, heat and common area fees if the Franklin County District Attorney’s Office moves out of the basement of the county courthouse across the street to Church Street Commons.
The spending package also includes $83,800 for communication upgrades for the Sheriff’s Department Communications Center and $1.6 million for the Franklin County Detention Center.
On Tuesday, commissioners will begin review at noon on program grants in their office at the courthouse.
On Wednesday, review begins at 9 a.m. with the DA’s office budget and the last starting time of budget review scheduled for 2:45 p.m. with the Franklin County Firemen’s Association.
