AUBURN — Eleanor Louise Vogel, 88, of New Gloucester, died Sunday, April 17, at Hospice House surrounded by her family.

She was born Eleanor Louise Bonney March 10, 1923, in Lewiston, Maine, daughter of Homer and Grace Bonney of Danville Junction.

She married Francis Allen Vogel in Boston on June 1, 1943. They were married for 64 years prior to his death in 2007. She was a full-time housewife and mother and was a member of Saint Gregory’s Parish in Gray. She enjoyed gardening, nature and spending time with her family and friends, especially at their camp on Sabbathday Lake.

She is survived by two sons, Mark Vogel and his wife, Dianne of Virginia, Dale Vogel and wife, Tasanee of Lewiston; two daughters, Nancy Morrison and husband, Bill of New Gloucester, and Janet Vogel of New Gloucester; seven grandchildren, Lisa Vogel Bibey, Kevin Vogel, Scott Vogel, Bill Morrison Jr., Karen Dehetre, Hannah Vogel and Kyle Bryant; and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Edith Lyons of Danville Junction; special nieces, nephews; and many extended family and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband, Francis Allen Vogel, in 2007; and one great-granddaughter, Maia Dehetre, in 2003.

 The family wishes to thank the Hospice House nurses for their loving care and support given to their mother.
