LEWISTON — The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing at Central Maine Medical Center is offering a free reiki class for Dempsey Center clients and those interested in volunteering at the Center. Beginners and reiki practitioners who would like to refresh their skills are welcome.
The class will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursdays, April 21 and June 2, at the Dempsey Center, 10 High St., Suite 301. Reiki Master Meredith Kendall will lead the group.
Reiki is a gentle, hands-on technique designed to relieve stress and discomfort. Clients are encouraged to relax, fully clothed, as a practitioner’s hands are lightly placed on or near the head, shoulders, arms and legs. Reiki is part of the wellness services provided by the Dempsey Center which complement the treatments and medications prescribed by a physician.
