FARMINGTON — The Franklin Memorial Hospital Auxiliary is hosting a Tea at Four Party to attract new members at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27, in the Bass Room at Franklin Memorial Hospital. The tea, which is free and open to the public, will include a keynote speaker, information sharing about the auxiliary and how it benefits the hospital, and live entertainment.
“The primary purpose of the tea is to attract new members to the auxiliary, an active organization that plans activities and special events, which raises thousands of dollars annually to support technology and programs at Franklin Memorial Hospital,” said Tom Hagerstrom, development director.
The tea will begin with refreshments; then at 4:30 p.m., Pam Ernest, chief nursing officer at Franklin Memorial will discuss improvements in patient care dependent upon technology and nursing expertise and explain how the auxiliary’s scholarships benefit nursing. At 5 p.m. the Syncopations, a 17-member all-women’s vocal ensemble from Mt. Blue High School, will perform.
The hospital’s gift shop is the auxiliary’s major fundraiser in its mission to provide financial support by purchasing equipment that the hospital would like to have, but cannot fit into its budget. The auxiliary also raises money by way of special events, membership dues, raffles, seasonal sales, book sales and the Remembrance Tree during the holidays.
An RSVP by April 20 for the Tea at Four Party is requested; contact Betty Mitchell at 897-2212. Those attending should look for directional signs for parking on the day of the event.
