RUMFORD — The trio Act V will perform classic rock ‘n’ roll and pop from the 1950s, ’60s and ’70s on Saturday, May 7, at a sock hop at 49 Franklin.
The sock hop will begin at 7 p.m. with music by DJ Scot. Act V, made up of Jeanie Stone, Sally Jones and Bob Elliott, will perform from 8 to 10 p.m.
Stone’s first musical performance was in a 1959 production of “HMS Pinafore” at the Norway Opera House. She studied choral music at Westminster College and has been singing in choirs, community choruses and plays ever since. Jones’ singing career began in the 1960s, when she sang folk music for several years on Cape Cod. She has long been active in theater productions in the Oxford Hills area as both a director and an actor. Elliott traveled the Northeast singing folk music in the 1960s. Since then, he has performed in area clubs and community theater. He sang with Gary Snee’s Express Big Band from 1986 to 1994.
