AUGUSTA (AP) — Maine Secretary of State Charles Summers Jr. is tweeting.
Summers has created a Twitter account, MaineSecOfState, in order to more closely interact with Mainers. The social networking website allows users to share information in 140 characters or less. Many celebrities, politicians and news organizations use Twitter to share thoughts, articles, updates and other information.
Summers says he’s using the Twitter account as a vehicle to quickly alert followers of news about his department, which includes the Bureau of Motor Vehicles, the Bureau of Corporations, Elections, and Commissions, and the state Archives.
