LEWISTON – The Maine Governor’s Council on Physical Activity will make a number of award presentations Tuesday morning, April 26, in the Hall of Flags at the State House.
Winners and nominees, which include schools, work sites, communities and individuals, will be recognized for the role they play in supporting a healthy Maine through physical fitness and activity programs.
The top local winner was St. Mary’s Health System, which won in the large business healthy workplace category.
Local nominees recognized for their contributions include Marden’s Corp. in Rumford; Michael Lecompte of Lewiston, who helps organize the Triple Crown 5 K series in Lewiston-Auburn, among other events; and Jodi Cornelio of Turner, a nutritionist and personal trainer.
Award presentations will be made starting at 11 a.m., following a welcome by Erik Steele, co-chairman of the Maine Governor’s Council on Physical Activity.
