DIXFIELD — Jeanne Luce, age 85, of Kidder Avenue, Dixfield, died unexpectedly Thursday, April 21, at her residence.

She was born in Dixfield on July 27, 1925, a daughter of Robert and Grace (Coburn) Ames. Jeanne was educated in Dixfield schools and was a graduate of Dixfield High School.

She married Richard H. Luce in 1946, and together they celebrated 58 years of marriage; he passed away in 2004.

Jeanne was a homemaker and lived in Dixfield all of her life.

She was a member of the Oxford County Extension, the Lucky Rollers Bowling League and the Bomberettes Bowling League.

Jeanne loved baking and cooking and made the best peanut butter fudge.

She loved spending time with her family, but especially her grandchildren, and she enjoyed her time at Webb Lake.

Surviving are a son, Franz H. Luce and wife, Pam, of Dixfield; a daughter, Marianne Luce Morton of Aberdeen, N.C.; a sister, Carolyn Gill; three grandchildren, Richard Morton of Rockingham, N.C., Ryan Morton and wife, Chrissy, of Pleasant Garden, N.C., and Emily Luce of Dixfield; and one great-granddaughter, Christine Morton.

She was predeceased by her parents; and her husband, Richard H. Luce.
