LEWISTON — The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing at Central Maine Medical Center is offering a free music and meditation workshop for cancer patients, survivors and caregivers. The six-part series will take place from 6-7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, May 3 through June 7, at the Dempsey Center, 10 High St., Suite 301.
Meditation is the practice of training the mind to rest in healing silence. Music offers a gateway into silence. Together music and meditation can offer respite and solace when we are facing times of crisis. Presenter Ed Gabrielsen is a musician, writer and teacher from Norway. He has led courses in meditation for groups in Maine, Texas and New Mexico.
