TURNER — Jake Ouellette cracked a walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh inning as Leavitt earned its first win of the season with a 10-9 victory over Oak Hill in KVAC baseball action Friday afternoon.

The Hornets (1-4) took a 5-2 lead in the home half of the first inning. But after some minor scoring over the next three frames, the Raiders (2-2) scored five runs to take an 8-7 lead.

The battle continued until the last at bat. Following a pair of hit batters, there were a total of six in the game, Ouellette singled in Zach Frost for the game winner.

Oak Hill 6, MCI 2

WALES — Freshman Parker Asselin earned a save in his first varsity pitching appearance as Oak Hill survived a 6-2 outing over MCI in KVAC baseball action Friday afternoon.

The Raiders (3-1) were leading 6-2 in the top of the sixth inning when Asselin came on in relief to face a bases-loaded situation. He struck out the first batter, and coaxed the next batter to hit into an inning-ending double play.

Josh Martin contributed two hits and two RBIs, while Cody Provost had a hit and two RBIs for Oak Hill. The Raiders also collected 11 stolen bases.

Adam Ogden tried to get things going in the sixth inning with an RBI single before Asselin prevented a Mustang (0-4) stampede.

Hampden 9, Mt. Blue 8

HAMPDEN — Cody Miller notched a walk-off single as Hampden edged Mt. Blue 9-8 in KVAC baseball action Friday afternoon.

Freshman designated hitter Cam Abbott put the Cougars (1-2) up 7-5 in the fifth inning with a two-run scoring double. Finding themselves down a point in the top of the seventh, junior outfielder Blake Hart tied the game at 8-8 for Mt. Blue.

Designated hitter, Jeddy Doyon,  posted three hits for the Broncos’ (3-2). He launched a home run in the second inning and put Hampden up 8-7 with a two-run single in the home half of the sixth inning.

Poland 12, Sacopee Valley 0

POLAND — Dylan Douglass fired a five-inning no-hitter to lead Poland to a 12-0 triumph over Sacopee Valley in a WMC baseball game Friday.

Douglass walked three batters and retired 12 of the 15 outs with a strikeout.

Patrick Jipson and Connor King hit doubles for the Knights, while King and Patrick Summers had two hits each.

King got Poland off to a quick start with a two-run single in the first inning. Caleb Bridgham added a two-run single in the third.

Oxford Hills 8, Cony 3

AUGUSTA — Oxford Hills snapped a deadlock with four runs in the sixth inning to pull away for an 8-3 triumph over Cony.

Dylan Cox led the Vikings (3-2) with a pair of doubles, while Jake Edwards added a double. Cox, Plummer and Matt Beauchesne had two hits apiece for the Vikings.

Jordan Croteau had seven strikeouts in the complete-game win.

Lewiston 6, Morse 1

BATH — Ben Wigant broke the game open with mammoth three-run home run to right field to send Lewiston to a 6-1 victory over Morse in a KVAC baseball game Friday.

Wigant’s heroics came during a 1-0 pitcher’s duel between Tucker Beaudoin of Lewiston and Morse’s C.J. Hardin. It was Wigant’s first homer of the season.

Matt Bowen gave the Blue Devils (4-0) a 1-0 advantage when he scored on an error in the third inning. Lewiston catcher Mekae Hyde chipped in with a pair of  doubles.

Morse kept the game close with some outstanding defense. Center fielder Dylan Quimby made three  circus catches  to rob Lewiston’s hitters.

Telstar 12, Livermore Falls 1

LIVERMORE FALLS — Ben Fields launched a three-run homer in the top of the fifth inning to cap Telstar’s 12-1 victory over Livermore Falls (0-4) in a baseball game Friday.

The Rebels’ pitcher Kyle Petterson went the distance, striking out seven batters and giving up four hits.

Dan Whitney and Casey Thornton each doubled and Devin Vail was the only repeat hitter for Telstar (3-1), smacking a pair of hits. The Rebels had seven hits for the day, but were helped by 10 walks given up by Livermore Falls pitchers.

Mountain Valley 1, Jay 0

RUMFORD — A misplayed fly ball allowed Mountain Valley to escape with a slim 1-0 victory over a stubborn Jay team in a baseball game Friday.

Jay pitcher Eli Capen stood his ground on the mound, striking out eight batters, but the Falcons (3-0) found away to get around him.

In the fourth inning and with one out, Branden Jacques and Ryan Nicols each got on base with a single. Kyle Gauvin, who had two hits including a triple, hit a fly ball to right field. It was misplayed and Jacques came home with the winning run.

Mountain Valley pitcher Adam Volkernick, who is undefeated at 2-0, got the win.

EL 12, Mt. Ararat 3

AUBURN — Edward Little played errorless defense and used an eight-hit attack to sideswipe Mt. Ararat, 12-3, in a baseball game Friday afternoon.

The Red Eddies (4-1) hopped out to a 4-2 lead before letting loose with a six-run outburst in the fifth inning.

EL’s Cam Ivers and Nate Blais each had two hits. Blais also drove in four runs. Cam Bisson and Sean Ford drove in two and three runs, respectively.
