LEWISTON — Jeannette Y. Couture Ouellette, 84, of 8 Woodside Drive, died Sunday, May 1, shortly after arrival at Central Maine Medical Center with her loving family by her side.

Jeannette was born in Chisholm on Jan. 21, 1927, a daughter of the late Napoleon and Anna Wiseman Couture. She was educated in Lewiston schools and worked at Raytheon, the Pepperell, Shapiro Shoe and Quoddy Moc.

On Feb. 16, 1946, she married Leo J. Ouellette at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul and together they settled in Lewiston to raise their family.

She was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish at Holy Cross Church and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren doing word search puzzles, watching daytime soaps and gabbing with her sisters on the phone.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be dearly missed.

Jeannette will be remembered not only for her loving and caring nature but also for being strong-willed.
