JAY — Selectmen voted Monday to pay firefighters $10 for attending their monthly meeting, Town Manager Ruth Cushman said Tuesday.
Firefighters had requested the stipend.
“Some of them, it is not mandatory, are planning on turning their pay in to the Fire Fighters Association to support their efforts,” she said.
Selectmen also voted to authorize Cushman to put out a request for proposals for a paving bond, she said.
The bond plan would have to go to town meeting for approval if the selectmen decide to go forward, Cushman said.
Selectmen also approved a summer meeting schedule for June, July and August to have one meeting a month unless others are needed, she said.
The meetings will be on the fourth Monday of the month.
