Greater Androscoggin Humane Society Manager Zachary Black gets a kiss from Minjai after a quick rinse as Laura Giasson rinses off Kate on Tuesday in preparation for the shelter’s Puppy Event planned for 11 a.m. today. Minjai and Kate are 4-month-old puppies transferred to Maine from Alabama because the shelters down South must make room for animals that were lost or left strayed by tornadoes that ravaged the area last month. The Greater Androscoggin Humane Society, on Strawberry Avenue in Lewiston, received 49 puppies on Saturday.
