SUMMERFIELD, Fla. — Marcel L.M. Corriveau, 83, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 5.
He was born in Lewiston, Oct. 19, 1927. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps and served during World War II and Korea. His love of children and the outdoors led him to Scouting, where he was both a Cub and Boy Scout leader of Troop 158.
He taught scuba diving and did salvage diving for the state of Maine. He was a longtime volunteer of the Maine State Museum and continued to volunteer at Florida museums. He was a roofer for HEFCO and then a quality control superintendent for Johns Manville. After retirement, he moved to Florida where, in addition to other activities, he joined a clown group that did benefit performances, mainly for children.
He is survived by his wife, Anita Desrochers; his daughter, Susan and her husband, Robert Runes, of Sumner; his sons, Paul and wife, Christine, of Portland and Michael and his wife, Theresa, of Somonauk, Ill.; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Rita Hamel; and his daughter, Liza.
