DEAR SUN SPOTS: We love Sun Spots and appreciate all your help and good tips. We are hoping you or some of your readers could help us with a special request. We have been blessed and honored to have my father-in-law, Albert Dupuis, back in Maine with us after 48 years in Bristol, Conn.

He is a young 86 and has many talents. He is a lifetime member of the Ole Tyme Bristol Fiddlers. He misses his jams, fiddlers and having someone to teach and play toe-tapping music with. The jams at the Rumford Eagles and the Snowshoe Club are over for the season, so he would like to know if there is anyone who would like to get together just to jam.

He plays the keyboard accordion, button accordion and fiddle. He would really love teaching anyone who would want to learn as well, free of charge. If anyone is interested in getting together with him, please call us or stop by and introduce yourself. We can guarantee a welcome. — Marc, Carleen and Albert Dupuis, 73 Whitman St., cmdupuis@roadrunner.com, 364-7357

DEAR SUN SPOTS: In response to C.B.’s May 10 inquiry, I am the owner of RCCM Cleaning Services Inc. (formerly Superior Carpets). I purchased the business from Ben Byam in 2002.

We continue to utilize the Rumford Answering Service to provide consistency for our customers in the Rumford area, thus alleviating the need for them to make a toll call to our home location in Jay. Cecile Beaudette, the owner of Rumford Answering Service, is very prompt and conscientious about forwarding calls to us.

I am very sorry that the customer is having difficulty reaching me, but after seeing the letter in today’s paper and contacting the answering service to be assured that all messages have been forwarded, I am at a loss.

I would like to offer the following numbers so that the customer in Rumford can reach us to schedule an appointment: Rumford Answering Service 364-7911 or 931-7087 (cell) or 897-2083 (home office). Again, my apologies to C.B. — Roland Castonguay, rccmcleaning@megalink.net

DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Mexico High Class of 1961 is having its 50th reunion this August and we need help in locating a classmate. If anyone knows the address of Sidney “Gussie” Bennett, please contact me. Thank you. — Ron Bernard, ronbernard42@hotmail.com, 364-8767

DEAR SUN SPOTS: We are in the early stages of planning a 50th Holy Cross School class reunion for the year 1962, to be held in July 2012. We have a great committee, and they bring many talents to the table.

We have located all but three classmates. If anyone knows the whereabouts of Pauline Duquette, Louis Mathieu and Lucille Laliberte, please contact me. — Connie Poulin Martel, Lewiston, rcm12@roadrunner.com

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Recently you had several columns regarding high school reunions, but we will be holding a slightly different reunion. We are inviting people who grew up in the north and west Auburn area during the 1940s, ’50s and ’60s to come back to the West Auburn Congregational Church, 811 West Auburn Road, Saturday, June 4, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. or so and renew childhood friendships.

Most of us went to either the one-room school at west or north Auburn or the Charles P. Wright School.

You are invited to bring lunch (or something to share) and see old friends. The church and vestry will be open. Any questions, call me. — Mary Buker, Minot, 966-3931

This column is for you, our readers. It is for your questions and comments. There are only two rules: You must write to the column and sign your name (we won’t use it if you ask us not to). Please include your phone number. Letters will not be returned or answered by mail, and telephone calls will not be accepted. Your letters will appear as quickly as space allows. Address them to Sun Spots, P.O. Box 4400, Lewiston, ME 04243-4400. Inquiries can also be e-mailed to sunspots@sunjournal.com.
