LEWISTON — Dorothy L. Perron, 78, formerly of 100 Campus Ave., Lewiston, died Monday, May 16, at d’Youville Pavilion, where she had been a resident since January.

She was born in Auburn, Feb. 15, 1933, the daughter of Aimee and Amanda Labonte Perron. Educated in local schools, she entered the convent and served with the Good Shepherd Sisters of Quebec, until the early 1970s, then left the order and worked at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in the housekeeping department, until her retirement.

After retiring, she continued to serve at St. Mary’s as a volunteer. A member of Holy Cross Church, Prince of Peace Parish, she loved to read, knit and crochet and loved cats.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Roland and Alcide Perron; and four sisters, Cecile Gagnon, Madeleine Hebert, Gilberte Perron and Jeannine Guay.

The family thanks the staffs of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice and d’Youville 4 West for all the loving care they gave Dorothy.
