LEWISTON — The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing at Central Maine Medical Center is offering a free Tai Chi series for cancer patients, survivors and caregivers. The series will take place Mondays, June 6 through 27 from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m. in the Multipurpose room of CMMC’s Wellness Center.
Learn the system of ancient Chinese movements that gently stimulate your body and quiet your mind. Some benefits include better balance, flexibility, stability and ease of pain associated with arthritis and other conditions.
Presenter Jason Grundstrom-Whitney will teach a form based on the Sun Style Family Tradition — one of the five major styles of Tai Chi. Jason has been teaching Tai Chi, meditation, Hsing-i and Bagua for nearly 20 years. He likes to bring humor and fun to classes. Please wear loose, comfortable clothing.
Preregistration is available by calling the Dempsey Center at 795-8250, toll-free 1-877-336-7287 or online at www.dempseycenter.org.
