NEW GLOUCESTER — Skystreakers RC Model Airplane Club will hold an open house from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 4. Raindate will be Sunday, June 5. The field is located at 254 Bald Hill Rd.
The Skystreakers, a nonprofit organization, has been an active flying club in the community for nearly 30 years.
There will be club owned training aircraft set up at the open house for anyone who wants to try out flying a model airplane. Instructors will be on standby to give ground and flight instruction.
Skystreakers holds formal training sessions every Wednesday evening all summer long for those who want to learn to fly radio controlled airplanes and helicopters. Training is also open to the public to anyone that wants to try their hand at R/C a couple of times before making the investment in their own aircraft. New this year, a Youth in Aviation program is also under development.
