FARMINGTON — A local man was injured when his vehicle struck a tree on the Temple Road in a section of curves near the Clover Mill Road on Thursday morning.

Clyde Bryant, 49, was traveling east toward Farmington at a high rate of speed and was all over the road before his 1998 Jeep Wrangler struck a tree, spun around and flipped into other trees, Sgt. Michael Adcock from the Farmington Police Department said.

Witnesses pulled off a portion of the fiberglass Jeep roof to check on the driver before emergency personnel arrived.

Bryant, who was alone in the vehicle, received facial lacerations and complained of pain, Adcock said. He was transported to Franklin Memorial Hospital by NorthStar Ambulance.

After initial treatment, Bryant was admitted to the hospital, according to a hospital representative.

The vehicle was damaged beyond repair and was hauled from the scene by Collins Wrecker.

Members of Farmington Fire and Rescue responded to the scene.
