I am writing in response to state Sen. John Patrick’s guest column, “Insurance companies get a voice in Augusta,” that was printed May 22.
With more than 130,000 people in Maine who cannot afford health insurance, it is obvious that the state’s current health insurance policies are not working.
It is time to do something about it, and I am pleased that state Sen. Lois Snowe-Mello has the courage to continue fighting battles like these.
I am disappointed that Sen. Patrick does not, and that he continues to support the status quo.
