JAY — The last meeting of the summer of the Jay-Livermore Falls seniors was held May 23 with 23 members and guests Pat and Gail Laverdiere present.

Following the meal, Chairwoman Shirley Coutre opened the meeting with a salute to the flag, a prayer, and a moment of silence for departed members and all men and women who have served and are now serving in the armed forces.

She announced the passing of a former member and officer Shirley Toncer.

She reminded members that if they need senior vouchers during the summer that they can call her and pick them up at her home.

Weekly meetings will resume Sept. 12 at noon with a casserole meal.

The 50/50 was won by Marguerite Slovak and door prizes donated by Marilyn DeSoto and Darrell Couture were won by Gail Laverdiere, Carole Redman and Gloria Bickford.

Any residents of the area who are 55 or older are welcome to join the group every Monday starting in the fall.
