NORTH YARMOUTH — Evan Patrick Kendall, son of Kathryn Kendall of Portland and Kevin Kendall of Durham, and Ben George, son of Ken and Rose George of Yarmouth, received the Eagle scout award on March 27 at a ceremony at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in North Yarmouth.

Evan is a junior at North Yarmouth Academy. In addition to being a high honor student, Evan is very active in sports including cross country, Nordic skiing, track and field and is one of the top runners and Nordic skiers in Maine. He has also participated in several school productions and plays oboe in the wind ensemble. His Eagle Scout project involved building an information kiosk at Royal River Park in Yarmouth.

Ben is the youngest of five sons; two of his older brothers have also earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Ben is a freshman at Yarmouth High School, where he is a high honor student and is active in several sports including basketball, track and soccer. He also participates in drama and was in the school musical “Oklahoma” last fall. He is active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and is a leader in his youth group. His Eagle Scout project involved building a trail for people to walk their dogs and enjoy nature on Cousin’s Island in Yarmouth; this included building a flat bridge over a swampy portion of an adjacent trail.
