On July 30, the VLMP will note its biggest event of the season when it celebrates 40 years of successfully monitoring Maine’s lakes at the annual Lake Monitoring Conference, at Pleasant Pond, Turner. This event will focus on the history of the VLMP, the thousands of individuals who have made a commitment to helping us learn more about Maine lakes, a discussion about what we have learned during the past four decades and an opportunity to socialize with people who have truly made a difference through their efforts to understand and protect Maine’s lakes. Preregistration is required, and is free for current, certified monitors.
To register, contact the VLMP office at 783-7733 or [email protected]. For more information about the VLMP and Maine lakes, email [email protected] or visit www.mainevolunteerlakemonitors.org.
