POLAND — Coming out of a 90-minute executive session to interview a consultant interested is assisting in the search for a new town manager, selectmen voted Thursday to hire the firm of Eaton-Peabody.

Board Chairman Erland Torrey said Eaton-Peabody would provide the town with the services of a temporary town manager while it helps with the search to replace Dana Lee, who submitted his resignation a little over a week ago.

Torrey said Don Gerrish, who served as Auburn’s assistant town manager a number of years ago and who has considerable experience as a town manager, will handle Poland’s day-to-day management in the interim.
