BRYANT POND — Whitman Memorial Library will have new library hours beginning Tuesday, June 14. The library will be open from 1 to 5 p.m. on  Tuesdays and Thursdays. Patrons were not using the evening hours, so the board of trustees voted for the change.

Artwork from Woodstock Elementary School third-graders is currently on exhibit.

There will not be a book sale this summer, but the library continues to accept donations for a sale next summer.

The library has added Academy Award-winning movie “The King’s Speech” to the DVD collection.

Joseph A. Boudreau will give a talk on his work on the Patriot Missile at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 9. There is no charge. The public is welcome.

Nancy Willard will be giving a class on strength and balance exercises that she participated in at the Stephens Memorial Hospital. Some of these exercises are done sitting and some standing. Dates have not been set yet.

The library recommends two local authors: Dean Bennett author of “Sills Laid for Camp,” and Gil Whitman, author of “From Start to Finish: The Story of an Eventful Life from Beginning to End.” Whitman was instrumental in establishing the picnic area at Snow Falls.
